The only storm threats during this period were confined to the southern High Plains, while I was a fixture on my couch. A mishap during a softball game resulted in a ruptured distal biceps tendon in my left arm (bicep no longer attached to my forearm), and this injury put me out of action for a couple of weeks. I resumed chasing just in time for a bust on 2 June 2005, though I wasn't able to drive long distances until July. The entire ordeal persisted until mid October when I was free of all contraptions! For those of you keeping score, I spent 22 weeks (15 May through 18 October) in some sort of brace.
